LOWER MORELAND GIRLS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW

Coach:  Rich Becker (entering 17^th season as head coach)

Assistant coaches: Bud Joshua, Julia Gatto, Lauren Killion

Last year’s record: 13-9 overall;  13-33 in BAL. 2^nd in our league and lost in the semifinals in the District Playoffs

Notable losses: Ceili Courduff (BAL league MVP); Alexandre Krutstinger; Riley Malone; Phoebe Lynch; Maggie McGarry

Key returners: Jess Dugo (11^th Guard) & Liz Neeld(10^th Forward)

Others to watch: Tori Finnegan (F 11^th); Ofek Gur (F 11^th); Jess Shein (G/F 10^th), Zoe Alden (G 9^th)

Strengths: Young and inexperienced, but very coachable and eager to improve

Question Marks: With only two returning players with significant varsity playing time, how will the team react to the speed of the varsity game and the level of competition in Suburban One

Outlook:  “We are a very young and inexperienced team with no seniors. Our goals are to continue to improve every week, be in a position to be competitive in all our games and to be playing our best basketball by the end of the season. At the start of the season, our young players will be forced to play above where they are ready to play, but they are competitive and are looking forward to the challenge.”
