PENNRIDGE GOLF PREVIEW

Head Coach:  Tim Rimmer (4th year)

2011 Overall Team Record:  5-12

2011 League Record:  3-11

Key Players Lost:  Nolan Rimmer, Tim Abruzzo, Nate Hill, Colin McIntyre.  All SOL qualifiers in 2011. Tim Abruzzo District qualifier in 2011.

Key Returnees: AJ Molettiere (12, Captain), Kyle Henofer (12), Shane McIntyre (11), Colton Pifer (10).

Others To Watch:  Jessie Herb (11)

Home Golf Course:  Indian Valley Country Club in Telford, PA.

Strengths:  Three (3) returning players who qualified for SOL championship in 2011 as well as several players who played a significant amount of golf over the course of the spring and summer.

Question Marks:  Graduation resulted in a loss of five (5) players who provided us a great deal of experience and leadership.  We expect to have four (4) solid golfers at the top of our order.  The question will be our four (4) remaining varsity slots and what type of scoring will we see from players who will be joining us with limited varsity experience.

Overall Outlook:  We are very excited to open our 2012 season with an invitation to the 2012 Spring Mill Invitational hosted by Council Rock South HS.  For 2012, we will find ourselves to be a more balanced team in terms of grade level representation.  The top of our lineup will consist of two (2) seniors, one (1) junior and one (1) sophomore and three (3) of those players return to us after qualifying for SOL championships in 2011. We will be relying a lot on AJ, Kyle, Shane and Colton to use their experience and post solid scores for us on a consistent basis. If we have a few of our new players step up and contribute some solid scores, I would expect us to be very competitive this fall.  I am excited to see our players invest more time and effort to their golf game during the offseason.  Several of our players participated in junior tournaments and matches this spring and summer and our hope is to continue to build on that level of interest and momentum for the benefit of our program in the years to come.
