PENNSBURY BASEBALL PREVIEW

Coach:  Joe Pesci – 3rd year

Assistant coaches:  Dan Toner, Kurt Kramp, Steve Nielsen, Jesse Toner

Last year’s record:  9-10 Overall 6-8 SOL National

Notable losses:
                  Ken McCormick – Philadelphia University
                  Tim Sheaffer – The College of New Jersey
                  Chris Hunter – Penn State Abington
                  Zach Sibel – Delaware Valley College (basketball)
                  John Sibel – Lycoming College (football)

Key returners:
                  Paul Gosselin, Senior Pitcher/3B ( 2nd team SOL 3B last year , Carpenter Cup)
                  Brandon Garrett, Junior Pitcher/OF/INF (3rd team SOL P last year, Carpenter Cup)
                  Chris Romano, Senior SS

Others to watch:

Strengths/Question Marks: 
                  Strengths: We will have a solid & deep pitching staff.

                  Question Marks: The ability to put teams away, hit in clutch situations

Outlook:  Last year our record was sub-par, but we lost 4-5 games by one run that we had a chance to win.  This year we expect to turn those games around and be in the mix to compete for the league title and make a run in playoffs.  Strong pitching and not giving teams extra outs or bases will help us make that happen.
