Season outlook:

“The 2020 Falcons are led by Captains Drew Hensor, Shane Marlin, Sam Ruta, and Devin Sweeney. The loss of eight starters (seven to graduation and one to injury) has provided us the opportunity for excellent competition at all three outfield positions, three infield positions, and innings on the mound.

“We graduated all but one league inning from 2019 including two first team all-league pitchers and one second team all league pitcher. Our 2020 staff is deep and versatile. Leading the way will be Devin Sweeney (2020 Delaware) who earned a few starts and  was fourth on the team in innings pitched last year.  Dylan Lubinski (2020 Bloomsburg), Tyler Babel (2020 Manhattan), and Callan Fang (2022) saw relief innings last year and will all be included in the starting rotation/relief situations.  Newcomers Nick Guerieri (2020 Lebanon Valley), Owen Lynch (2021), Eric Kulb (2021), Charlie Evans (2022), Justin Mitrovich (2022), Kayden Faulcon (2023), and Ryan Zuckerman (2023) are all expected to compete for relief innings.  Returning behind the dish is second team all-league catcher Shane Marlin (2020 Lock Haven). Shane will be joined by Joe Limongelli (2021). 

"Our infield will be led by two-time first team all league Sam Ruta (2020 West Point) who will move to SS this year. Returning infielders expected to compete for starting spots will be Alex Martin (2021), Jake Schilling (2021), Eric Stradling (2021), Callan Fang (2021), and Tyler Babel (2020). Returner Evan Urglavitch (2020) and newcomers Alex Evans (2021), Adam Christopher (2021), and Luke Tiroly (2020) will compete for innings at first base and DH.  There will be a lot of competition in the outfield this year after losing returning starter Drew Hensor (2020 Kutztown Football) to an ACL injury this fall. Returners Danny Ciotti (2021) Ethan Karel (2020 Muskingham), Malik Thomas (2020), and Devin Sweeney (2020) all had starts in the outfield last year and will be pushed by newcomers Charlie Evans (2022) and Justin Mitrovich (2022).

“We are excited to once again compete in the best League in PIAA, as well as, a loaded non-league schedule including PIAA 2A State Champ Devon Prep, Maryland 3A State Champ Bennett, Delaware State Runner-up Caravel Academy, PIAA 6A State Runner-up Central Bucks South, and perennial PAISAA power Penn Charter. With some of the best returning starters and role players from last season plus the addition of some highly competitive, game-ready newcomers, we have the experience, the talent, and the depth necessary to defend our SOL National Conference Title and compete in the postseason.”
