Outlook: “Our team returns 14 Varsity players, including 10 players that saw significant starts or playing time in 2021. These players include 1st team OF Charlie Evans, 1st Team DH Callan Fang, 2nd team Pitcher & HM OF Justin Mitrovich, and 2nd team SS Ryan Zuckerman. Added to that list is senior Reese Hirsh who played 3B last year but moves behind the plate. Gavin Hawkes, Mateo Arteaga, and Kayden Faulcon ate up a lot of innings last year and will do the same for us this year. Junior Joe Tiroly who saw starts at both 2b and SS will be moving to 3B to start the year. Both Jackson Freeman and Jordan Czerniak platooned in the OF and will be in the mix for a starting spot. We are excited to have some returners and newcomers to add depth and competition in several positions.
“Several close losses left us outside the playoff race, but we feel confident that we can turn that corner this year. It’s always a blessing to compete in the strongest and most successful league in PIAA. Every game will be highly competitive at the 6A level which will prepare us for the postseason. Our team has built a great rapport and foundation through the fall and winter and have already shown potential for big things. I believe that we have the talent and depth to compete for an SOL Patriot Division title as well as in District 1 and state playoffs.”
