Season Outlook:
The 2011 Falcons look to build on the success of their 17-3 campaign from last year,
earning the 9th overall seed in the District One playoffs before an eventual overtime loss
in the second round. This season the Falcons will be led by their veteran defense with
four-year starter Dan Marr and second year goalie Drew Sweetland leading the way. Along with Marr and Sweetland, the Falcons are returning all of their long poles from last season and are looking to improve on a defense that surrendered just under 6.7 goals per game in 2010.
Offensively, the Falcons will be led by returning attackmen Josh Caven and Calvin
Hopkins and midfielders Ricky Jutkiewicz and Evan Caterson, each player earning All
Suburban One honors last year. Key losses on the offensive side of the ball from last
season will require players like Ryan McDonald (midfield) and Andrew Probst
(attack) to step up quickly and produce for an offense that really clicked last year,
averaging just over 10 goals a game.
This season the Falcons hope to build on the success of last year while navigating
through a very difficult conference and non-conference schedule with the goal of making
it back to the District One playoffs.
