PENNSBURY VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW 

Coach: Tim Paulson 5 years
 
Assistant coaches:  Erika Schmidt, Craig Chassen
 
Last year’s record:
League; 10-2, Overall dual matches 14-5, overall with tournaments 17-9-4 (w-l-t)
2nd in SOL national, finished tied for 5th in districts
 
Notable losses:
  • Drew Jolly (sol national player of the year)
  • Sydney Aizen  (starter)
  • Paige Hensor (starter)
  • Sammi Eiser (starter)
  • Molly Philips (key player) (lost to soccer, now a senior on soccer team)
  • Brittany Bigos, (started in 2008 and begining of 2009, all district as sophomore in 2008 lost to injury)
 
Key returners:
            Julian Slaven, 12th setter  (2nd team SOL)
            Lauren Pisauro 11th outside hitter
            Audrey Stringer 11th outside, opposite, middle (2nd team SOL)
             
Others to watch:
            Jen Matuza, 12th outside hitter, defensive specialist
            Kelsey Moulton, 11th outside hitter
            Sarah Sweetland, 10th middle
            Jae Jackson 10th, middle
            Katrina Ballerini, 12th Defensive Specialist
 
Outlook:
“We lost a lot of experience and talent for many reasons, but we have a hungry and enthusiastic group. We might take are lumps early in the season, but we could be a good team come playoff time if the younger girls develop.”
