QUAKERTOWN BOYS’ LACROSSE PREVIEW
Coach: Tony Carty, 3rd season as Head Coach, 5th season with the team.
Assistant coaches: Brian Cole, Karl Schiebenhofer, Ted Wassmer
Last year’s record: The Panthers were 3-15 last year with two SOL wins.
Notable losses: The Panthers only lost three seniors last season. Jack Dilberto moved on to the University of Delaware to pursue his academic career. Jacob Wackerman received an ROTC scholarship and attends Penn State University. Brett Heilman entered the workforce and is an apprentice in the carpenter’s union.
Key returners: The Panthers return an experienced senior class of players who have contributed to the team for several seasons. Senior close defender Cody Jefferson is a four-year starter and captain who provides great leadership and excellent defense. Cody is set to play college lacrosse next season at Penn Technical College. Two other senior defenders Colin Uhrich and Gabe McNutt are also returning starters that will play a big role this season. Offensively, senior Alex Jalboot will lead the offense at Attack. Alex has started since his freshman season and is excited to lead the offense.
Others to watch: Defensively several players will contribute. These players include Aiden Walsh, Tyler Scheibenhofer and Elijah Wassmer. Other notable offensive players are Jacob Mosser, Evan Mooney, Jackson Lesinski, David Hammond, Mason Borzio, and Freddie Hipple.
Strengths/Question Marks: This season looks to be an improvement for the Panthers. The strength of the team is a junior and senior class that has several 2- and 3-year starters. The big question is whether all of these players can compete for four quarters and win close games.
Outlook: This team has rallied behind good senior leadership and bought into Coach Carty’s philosophy of competing each day. The Panthers team motto is Hustle-Hit-and Never Quit!
