QUAKERTOWN FIELD HOCKEY PREVIEW
Head coach: Peach Draper (Head coach at Quakertown 2007-13)
Assistant coaches: Shawn Storm, Megan Roth and Peyton Fischer
Notable losses: Kaitlyn Landis (Playing Field Hockey at York College) and Ember Retter
Key returning players: Junior Cassidy Landis, Junior Paige Longacre, Junior Sunday Draper, Sophomore Penny Longacre, Sophomore Cameron Landis and two incredible goal keepers Senior Anna Haberle and Junior Darcy Baxter
Others to watch: Senior Casey Rosenberger, Senior Emma Stalletti, Junior Blair Mora, and Junior Cadence Jozefowski
Strengths: Junior Sunday Draper--Top Scorer and First team SOL last year. She was also on the U18 Junior National OutdoorTeam for team USA as well as the U17 Junior National Indoor Team and has been a key contributor for Quakertown since her freshman season. Unfortunately, she is currently out with an ACL injury, but she is making great strides in her rehab.
Junior Cassidy Landis--One of the leaders with goals and assists last year along with second team SOL last year. She has an incredibly high field hockey IQ and knows to create plays and put her teammates in the best possible positions.
Junior Paige Longacre--Goal and assist contributor along with honorable mention SOL last year. Paige has an incredible touch and a natural ability to carry the ball with control and speed down the wing, creating dangerous opportunities for the Panthers’ attack.
Sophomore Penny Longacre--Honorable Mention SOL last year. Penny is a fierce competitor and natural athlete who has the talent and drive to be a superstar on any given day. I am so excited for her to bring the action this year.
Outlook: “The Quakertown Field Hockey team enters the season with big goals and a clear vision. After tying for the SOL title the past two years, the Panthers are determined to claim the championship outright this season. Beyond the league, the team has its sights set on making a deeper run in districts and earning a spot in the state tournament. These aspirations are fueled by the relentless work the girls put in during the offseason. They put in hours of conditioning, skill work, and team bonding that have built not only their strength and speed but also their connection and trust in one another. This is a group that pushes each other, supports each other, and refuses to settle. With their drive, unity, and talent, they’re ready to put Quakertown Field Hockey on the map.
