Strengths: “Our offense is capable of challenging any pitcher in the league. The seniors displayed a lot of pop last year and look to continue that again this year. The junior class is primed and ready for breakout offensive years. Several could challenge each other to be tops in the league.”
Question marks: “Our defense had lots of question marks last year. We’ve worked to improve those areas of concern, but we’re still unproven until we play our first game. Defense is often a mental battle and the hope is that we’ve prepared the girls to better handle the daily pressure of the game.
“Pitching seems to be a question mark throughout the league. Our pitchers have worked hard to improve. They are looking to challenge each other throughout the year. What is left to be determined is whether we’ll be able to close out games that got away from us in the past.”
Outlook:“While we lost a few players last year, those returning were statistically some of the best on our team. The pitchers are ready to show they can handle the load. If our defense finds a way to close out the games in which we build a lead, we could return to the level of play Souderton is known for. It’s an exciting year in the Continental as multiple teams feel like they have an opportunity to battle for a top spot.”
