· Strengths: Pitching - with a year of Varsity experience on the mound, and lots of hard work this summer, Kristin Ganderton should be able to keep many hitters' bats quiet with her variety of pitches and velocity. Additionally, we have several players with a lot of versatility. Ashleigh Sharp and Nichole Moran both have great experience and natural ability in the outfield, but can also help to fill the hole at shortstop left by Sam Haber's graduation. Both Sharp and Moran also add a lot of speed and offensive ability at the top of the line-up. Rachel Mintz also brings three years of Varsity experience and can play second base, first base, and even share some of the pitching responsibility if needed.
· Question Marks: Offense - with a number of new players to the Varsity level, it may take some time in the batter's box for some hitters to get comfortable with the pitching at the Varsity level. We expect to play at lot of low-scoring games this year where just one run can make a difference.
· Outlook: With a solid and consistent defensive effort, Upper Dublin is looking to remain competitive amongst the other teams in the SOL American conference. The Flying Cardinals will also get a big challenge to begin their season, with a non-league schedule that includes Souderton, North Penn, CB East, and Abington.
