Season Outlook:  This year’s girls’ softball team is excited at the prospects of having a very successful year.  Only graduating two seniors from last year’s squad and having 10 returning letter winners on the roster this year, the team is hopeful to be one of the top contenders in the Suburban One American Conference this season.  Pitcher Kristin Ganderton, Centerfielder Ashleigh Sharp, and Infielder Nichole Moran are returning for their fourth year on Varsity, while junior third baseman Rachel Hyman will add her two years of Varsity experience on the hot corner of the infield.  Sarah Rosenbaum will add depth to the offense, while Alexandra Nathan, Brittany Startzel, Gianna Tino and Courtney King offer versatility and experience in numerous positions.  Sophomores Rachel Stingel and Rachel Matricardi round out the returning letter winners, but also look for newcomers Ana Cubit, Sara Weinberg, Jenny Conard, Becky Haber, and Allie Silk to add to the line-up as well.  Experience is definitely a strength for many of the players, but finding a good chemistry with some new faces in different positions is very important, and we are looking for a number of girls to step up and become strong leaders on the team.  The girls are excited to get out on the field and put their talents to the test and they will get that opportunity on Monday, March 25, against Abington in their season opener.
