UPPER MORELAND BASEBALL PREVIEW

Head coach: Jim Fasano (4th year), 9-11 overall, 8-8 in SOL Freedom, lost in 1st round of District 1 5A playoffs to Penncrest 2-1.

Notable losses: Nate Kelly, Dylan Wood, Colin Fell, Alex Best, Tanner Sharp

Key returning players: Colson Campbell (team MVP), Nick Simons, Jackson Townsend, Pat Kilgus, Max Abbosh, Jimmy Murray, Luke Sword, Chase Moore, Lucas Zipper, Chase Rampulla

Others to watch: Josh Darsney, Jake Gibbs, Cannon Campbell

Strengths/Question Marks: “We're going to have to find the right lineup combination and play some small ball, but our kids put in awesome work in what was a tremendous offseason. We have a bunch of potentially good arms and will have to play a few games to determine who deserves varsity innings.”

Outlook: “We will be young but experienced, and buoyed by a bunch of kids who won the Senior Little League State Championship. Colson Campbell was our team MVP and an all-league player, Nick Simons was one of the league's best arms, and Pat Kilgus one of the most feared hitters (committed to West Chester). Jackson Townsend is an all-world athlete who should put up outstanding numbers this season. We will be a good, tough team especially if the coach doesn’t mess it up (me)! They are a great group of boys, and we have some young guys who should play significant roles.”
