UPPER MORELAND GIRLS’ SOCCER PREVIEW

Head coach: Lisa Benvenuto (1^st year after five years at middle school and previously served as the head coach at Neumann College for seven years)

Last year’s record: 7-7 SOL, 7-10 overall

Players to watch:Lindsay Walder, Senior Midfielder; Taylor Valera, Junior Forward; Morgan Valera, Senior, Defender; Karli Lynch, Senior Defender; Veronica Baez, Junior Midfielder.

Key losses: Madeline Mauro, Midfielder; Leslie Weaver, Goalie

Outlook: “The Bears are looking forward to having a strong competitive season. Tri-captains, Lindsay Walder, Morgan Valera and Karli Lynch will be at the helm in leading a young team. The impact of the freshman class on the team should be felt early on in the season. Although they may be a young team, we expect to play at a higher level this season. Speed, skill, endurance, and leadership will be the Bears’ greatest strengths. We are looking to be competitive in every match that we play.”
