Pennridge defeated CB South 5-4 on Thursday afternoon. Anthony Helbling earned the win and Jimmy Petrik earned the save. CB South scored 2 runs in the first. Zach Steinberg doubled, Jake McKeown singled. Steinberg scored on a throwing error. Jake Trachtenberg had an RBI single in the first.
Pennridge answered with2 in the bottom half. Paul Croyle singled, Ray Knight doubled. Croyle scored on a Nick Christ ground out and Knight scored on a Jimmy Petrik single.
In the bottom of the 2nd, the Rams had 3 straight singles by Sean Clayton, Jack Goddess and Kyle Moran. Clayton scored on a ground-out by Croyle and the Rams scored a second run of the inning on a past ball.
The Rams added their 5th run on a Ray Knight sac fly scoring Kyle Moran who reached on an error. The CB South rally in the 7th came up a little short. Jake McKeown scored on a sac fly by Mike Marino. Jimmy Petrik was able to save the game leaving two runners left on base.
Anthony Helbling battled for 5 innings and giving up 3 runs. Petrik threw the final 2 innings. earning the save.
