Hatboro-Horsham Comments
The Hatters lost a 2-0 SOL American Conference game at Quakertown on a cold and windy Tuesday afternoon.

Quakertown scored first in the bottom of the first inning when CF Sean Brennan led off the inning with a walk, one of three issued by Hatters starter Jackson Treski in the first inning. Panthers 1B Justin Guidos then bunted Brennan over to second and 3B Dennis Pierce drove him in with a double to right field. Pierce was thrown out trying to stretch the double into a triple when he slid past the bag and Hatters junior 3B Sean Gledhill held the tag on Pierce for the first out.

Treski worked around the other two walks to escape the first without any further damage. After the first inning, Treski adjusted to the conditions and was phenomenal. The sophomore took the loss, but went 5 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs (only 1 earned) on 6 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 9, including 6 of the last 9 batters he faced. Freshmen Jimmy Tooley relieved Treski in the 6th inning when he hit the 100 pitch count limit and got out of the inning with a groundout to third base.

The Panthers added on in the 4th inning to take a 2-0 lead when they hit 3 consecutive singles to start the inning and then scored on a passed ball. Treski then struck out two hitters and got a groundout to end the inning.

The Hatters were held to just two hits by the Panthers pitching staff of JJ Paul (Win, 5 IP), Justin Guidos (1 IP), and Dennis Pierce (Save, 1 IP). Sophomore SS Jake Bianchini and senior CF Jake Mayson recorded the two hits for the Hatters.

The Hatters (1-3 Overall, 1-1 SOL American) will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Upper Moreland for their third of four consecutive league games this week.
