“This was a good bounce back game for us and a total team win. We had good balance other three girls in double figures. And we had a lot of important contributions from other girls who didn’t register double digit points. That’s big for us because it shows we can pick each other up. We did much better rebounding the ball today than Friday night and we converted 23 points off their turnovers. I thought we came out a little sloppy, turning the ball over too much early almost trying to make the perfect pass. We did a much better job of settling and and dictating pace and temp on the second quarter. We got contributions from all four grade levels, which was something I thought was possible with the makeup of this team, four experienced upperclassmen and a younger group that is carving out roles or hungry for a bigger role. Hannah got into a nice rhythm offensively and looked more comfortable within our offense. We did a good job of getting her the ball on mismatches. Jenna played a really sound all around game for us and battled on the glass all weekend and provides some stability on the floor with her decision making. Nicole had a good tournament both ends of the floor and was good in transition, particularly with decision making on throwing it ahead, attacking, setting us up. Carley Irvin was a great example of impacting the game without scoring. She had 8 assists, she made several other real sound plays and decisions that set up good shots for herself and others, she guarded their best player when we went man. She had a really strong tournament from a floor game standpoint. I think she averaged 7 assists for the tournament. She’s doing a good job of implementing the stuff we are practicing jump stop, driving, drawing and dishing. Two sophomore, Montanna and Riana, combined for five threes and contributed defensively with steals and rebounds respectively. And Karissa Smedley gave us good minutes off the bench, changing out tempo defensively, and keeping possessions alive. It was good to even out our record, see the girls play together and also see some things we are working on out into place and give us some things to work on. “
