Tennent bounced back tonight and got a big win over Hatboro-Horsham. The Panthers got out to a quick start and held a 16-9 lead after one. The hot shooting from Tennent continued in the second, but the Hatters answered with a 4-0 run of their own to close out the half and cut Tennent's lead to 30-20. Despite the increased pressure by Hatboro-Horsham and the fact that they outscored Tennent 24-20 in the second half, the Panthers held on to win 50-44. "It was a great team win tonight, and I'm so proud of how our girls played, said Coach Whitney." We were coming off of a tough loss to CR North, and to see them respond the way they did just shows that we are growing as a team. I know that we will continue to improve and learn how to close out games better, but at this point in the season I was very pleased with their effort. The fact that we were playing short-handed for the second straight game, and that so many of our girls lack varsity experience they really stepped up to the challenge. Erin Hart was huge the second half scoring all 9 of her points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and knocking down 2 big shots late in the 4th quarter. Haley Crossley lead the way with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and a steal. Chelsea Meltzer chipped in 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Jenna Rodebaugh added 4 points, while Caitlin Somerville had 3 points and 2 assists.
