Lower Moreland vs. Abington

Lower Moreland Comments
Going into the game, we knew that we'd have our hands full. Abington had just been upset three days ago, we had one starter, Amelia Brown, out with injury and there was very little chance that Abington would have back to back games of shooting 1 - 24 from the 3 point line. When you combine that with one of your two most important players getting in foul trouble within the first 3 minutes of the game, you end up one the wrong end of a 37 point loss. To be honest, if Dan Marsh were not such a class act, it could have been even more one-sided .

Abington came out with a lot of energy. Initially we were okay handling their pressure, but we could overcome the combination of being down one starter and another in foul trouble. Realistically at the end of the day it would not have impacted the outcome, but being able to keep some experience on the floor would have allowed us to be competitive longer than we were.

If there was a positive from the game, it was that this was the first time all but two or three of our girls had seen this type of pressure. Abington pressured us into our share of mistakes both physical and mental, but we also saw a lot of growth from some of our younger players. Tonight we played 9 players, 2 were seniors, the rest were 9th and 10th graders, all of whom are resilient and coachable. We'll learn from tonight and hopefully take away some things that will make us a better team.
