Lower Moreland vs. Renaissance Academy

Lower Moreland Comments
After expending a lot of mental and physical energy on an OT win last night, I was a little nervous that we might come out flat. Renaissance likes to play a physical up and down style that we have seen yet this year so I was proud that the girls played poised and played our game and not theirs.
Another coach told me that they were an "overly physical" team, but it didn't phase our girls. I thought that the ref's did a nice job controlling the game and our poised allowed us to get a few of their girls in foul trouble, once that happened we were able to open it up.
Key Moment One: After getting up 15 - 4 to start the game, Renaissance made a run and closed the gap to 15 - 11 and at the end of the quarter, Sofia Fey hitting a big three to put us up 18 - 11 and that settled us down.
Key Moment Two: At the start of the third quarter were finally patient on offense in the half court and the girls ran their lanes in transition and the result was some high percentage baskets and we outscored them 24 - 10.

Key Players: Once again Dani continues to be our leader on the court. After a 21 point and 16 rebound game last night, she had 19 points and 6 steal tonight.
Bri McFerran is struggling a bit on offense, but she continues to battle and rebound for us. In the 9 full games she's played this season, she has 7 double-doubles. Tonight she had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Nikki Sahl had a career high 14 points tonight. She was 6 for 9 from the floor and she just competes. Night after night we task her with defending the other teams best perimeter player and she continues to rise to the occasion. She frustrated their best player which contributed to her getting in early foul trouble and us being able to take advantage of the situation.
Tomorrow will be a very light practice before we get ready for Plymouth Whitemarsh on Friday
