Plymouth Whitemarsh jumped out to an 11-0 lead on their way to a 26-11 first quarter. Abington battled tough for all four quarters, but PW was able to clinch their third straight outright league championship, and fifth in the last six years. Abby Sharpe led the scoring for PW with 19 points, Erin Daley and Jordyn Thomas each stepped up with 13 points. Kaitlyn Flanagan scored 5 points and once again handled the relentless physical Abington defense for 4 quarters. Lainey Allen, despite being saddled with foul trouble scored all 8 of her points in the first half and helped a team effort defensively. Once again, even though they do not show in the scoring column, Fiona Gooneratne and Angelina Balcer gave great minutes off the bench. Gooneratne had to play major minutes once the Colonials found themselves in foul trouble. PW finishes league play at Wissahickon on Thursday.
