Plymouth Whitemarsh Comments
PW 47, Pennsbury 36

Plymouth Whitemarsh girls avenged a district semifinal loss from two years ago with a dominant win. Erin Daley was simply outstanding. Scoring 11 points, and leading the team defensive effort that held Pennsbury standout Ava Sciolla to 5 points through three quarters. Lainey Allen had team high 16 points, Abby Sharpe had 7 of her 9 points in the first quarter to set the tone for the balanced Colonial attack. Kaitlyn Flanagan scored all 6 of her points in the second half and steadied the ship anytime the Falcons made a run. Jordyn Thomas had to sit most of the first half with foul trouble, but bounced back to play the entire second half to captain the defense and handle the Falcon pressure. Fiona Gooneratne filled in for Thomas in the first half, including a momentum changing deep 3 when PW really needed a score. PW advances to the District 1 Championship for the second straight year, third time in six years, and will face SpringFord in a rematch of last year’s championship at 4pm at Temple.
