CB West is a highly skilled team. They move the ball very well. They have fast passes and quick restarts.

We had great energy tonight as we celebrated our three Seniors: Kaitlin Sullivan, Captain Ella Haag, and Captain Erin Kelly. These girls are a small but mighty Senior class and they led the entire team tonight with such class. Holding CB West from scoring in the first quarter really got our team energized. We earned a few penalty corners and generated some great offense. Even though West scored two goals in the second quarter, we didn’t give up. We continued to fight hard, trying not to let them spoil the night. In the 3rd quarter we got on the scoreboard when Tessa Walls fed the ball to Amy Hazell who got it past the West goalkeeper somehow. The score was 2 to 1 for a bit and we actually started to get them flustered. Then unfortunately, our center back, Sophia Kraft, collided with one of West’s players and got injured. She had to come out of the game and we had to readjust our line up. West ended up scoring again and we had difficulty scoring. We are so proud of our team for finishing strong and making it a Senior night to remember. I cannot list everyone on the team but they all deserve a shout out. It was a total team effort. The last time we played West we lost 6 to 0 so we were thrilled to see how far we have come since the start of the season. Nora McQueen in the goal cage tonite stopped some rocket shots from West’s Attackers. She saved 7 out of 11 shots on goal. It was great to have forward Amy Hazell back. She returned from being sidelined due to an ankle injury and used her speed to get down the field and in the circle tonight. Ella Haag, Ella Marchesi, and Avery Tyler did a great job at holding the middle of the field. Shout out to forward Erin Kelly for receiving some great balls sent to her tonight and putting them in play for others on the team.

Coach comments:
South fans do a great job of making it a home field advantage for their South players. It was their senior night, so the atmosphere was super amped up. The South players always play with high intensity, hustle and aggression and tonight was no exception. Cudos to our West players for remaining poised after a scoreless first quarter with some missed opportunities. Our girls were resilient in their play and were able to capitalize on our speed to create scoring opportunities. Preparing for the post season, I am excited to see other players getting goals and our passing game become more sophisticated.
