Central Bucks West Comments
Coach Shannon (and staff) always have their teams prepped and ready to go - this evening was no exception. Tonight was a hard fought match - with very good field hockey on display from both programs.
North Penn has been a perennial top-level team in our conference and district, we felt that it was important to get off to a strong start. We were able to generate several corners early but not able to execute or finish.
The game itself was well balanced based on PCs (CBW 10; NP 10); shot on goal (CBW 12; NP 16) and GK saves (CBW 12; NP 7).
We will continue to have a balanced scoring team: Calista Boos (1), Nina Mayro (1) and Kendal Siegle (1).
Our defense rose to the occasion on several plays that featured: (2 defensive stick saves) Bronwen Rouse and Eve Damsker; and, our Freshman Goalkeeper (Kendra Pitts) making an incredible diving stick stop save on a penalty stroke. Credit to the North Penn GK too - she made several difficult saves against us.

We are proud of our team and the level of grit that they show and maintain throughout the match.
This truly is a special group of student-athletes; they continue look to grow and improve their game within our team structure.

Defensive Saves: NP - Jocelyn Franek - 2; CBW - 1

Notes: It was a fast paced and intense game that had October feels to it. Unfortunately North Penn couldn't convert some early scoring opportunities after forcing multiple corners in the first quarter which came back to haunt the Knights late in the game as we had to play catch up as CBW never lost the lead. Sisters Catherine McGeehan and Grace McGeehan were dynamic on the front line creating corner opportunities for the Knights. The defensive unit of Jocelyn Franek (two defensive saves), Melissa Sessler, Annabelle Smink, and Kiera Holt had a great night in the defensive end as CBW has a skilled and fast attacking unit.

North Penn record: 1-1
