It was a slow day for us with having to play on grass. It certainly didn't help when the rain started at half time. We were down our starting goalie today but Caitlin Murcur did a great job stepping up and keeping the defense in check. After a slow start to the first quarter the team was able to find a way to put four goals in before the end. It was nice to see the attack line of Maeve Link, Erica Devlin and Skylar Beal work the ball around in the circle to create open shots. Due to some illness and the lack of JV game we had some new players step up and do a great job on defense to limit the amount of time the ball was in our defensive end. Keira Kling, Kayla Krestchman and Isabel Updyke worked well together back there today. The trio of Camryn Stewart, Olivia Doughtery and Maddie Slavin handled the center for the field and created lots of opportunities for the attack to score. Kudos to Cheltenham. They are much improved from last year and had some great passing sequences up the sidelines causing us to get back on our heels a couple times.
