Today was a great team win! The team practiced on grass yesterday and had to learn quickly how to deal with the challenging surface. UM’s first goal was scored off of a corner. After Ella Gould inserted, Melissa Torpey made a great pass to Kelly Bates for the hard shot to the back boards.
In the 2nd quarter, after a corner, Ella Gould passed to Olivia Torres who had a sweep in goal. The UM midfielders including Bethany Slagle, Bridget Hess and Hannah Gardner continued to stay strong to keep the ball in the offensive end.
In the 3rd quarter, Olivia Torres snagged a ball in front of the keeper and put it away for the 3rd goal and her 2nd of the game.
Izzy Duncan had a strong game defensively and Savannah Anderson played strong on both free hits and defense below the 25.
