Abington 0
Downingtown East 6

The score does not reflect how well we played today. After driving an hour yesterday, warming up, playing 3 minutes, waiting an hour in a weather delay we drove home in the pouring rain. We got back on the bus today and played through the rain for 1.5 hrs, never once did these girls complain. They left it all on the field today. The play was back and forth for a full game. Downingtown East has some of the best corners we have seen all season and they were able to capitalize on those. We had trouble finding the cage but definitely had our opportunities. Some real positives came out of the game, Tata Hughes entered the Abington record book with her 18th defensive save. Olivia Dougherty had an excellent game at center back today stopping their play and helping transition the ball into our offensive end. Skylar Beal stepped up and played a great game in the midfield to replace a starter who was unable to attend the game. No matter what these girls defied all odds and finished the season 11-9 and achieving their goal of making districts. We wish our sevens seniors so much luck moving forward and look forward to seeing where this team will go in the future.
