Harry S. Truman vs. Bensalem

Bensalem Comments
Congratulations to Truman's seniors who were recognized tonight. It was a feisty game from the start as both teams wanted to get back on the winning track. Bensalem started the scoring off with a backhand lifted shot from Giuliana Pasquarella just 3 minutes and 33 seconds into the game. Pasquarella was injured shortly thereafter from an errant stick and had to leave the game. The Owls seemed to respond well to the loss of one of their captains and leaders with another goal with just 17 seconds left in the first half. With time running out in the quarter, sophomore Mollie Reilly made a nice little run into the circle on her backhand that found its way onto the stick of Ava Hood who finished with a nice flick past the Truman goalie. It was Hood's 3rd goal of the season. Toward the end of the third quarter, freshman Kylie Blank scored her sixth goal of the season unassisted.
That's the way the game finished with a solid 3-0 win for the Owls. The Bensalem defense of Casey Bush, Maggie McLaughlin, Paige Schiefer, Reagan Colgan and Olivia Cervantes, along with Senior goalies Brianna Swanson and Emily Adams helped to complete their fourth shutout of the year.
Haley Groves really stepped up with the loss of Pasquarella early on, and midfielders Veronica Lennon and Makayla Dunkin tightened up the middle of the field. It was probably Lennon's best game as an Owl, commanding her zone and making very powerful runs when they were available to her. She's becoming a leader in only her second year in high school. I can't wait to see what her future holds.
