Abington vs Hatboro-Horsham
at Hatboro-Horsham Grass Field
Final 2-1 Abington
1st quarter 0-0
2nd quarter 1-0 Hatboro-Horsham
3rd quarter 1-1 Abington Sophomore Camryn Stewart to Freshman Maura Calladonato
4th quarter 2-1 Abington Jr Devan DiMaria to Stewart
Abington came into today's game 0-2 and trying to figure out how to put the ball in the net. It was a slow start with rain and grass. It took a while for Abington to get their footing on the wet grass and saw a back and forth game the first half with HH capitilizing on a corner with under 5 minutes to play in the 2nd quarter. The 2nd Abington controlled the ball a bit more and was finally able to connect on two corners. Abington is young this year and just figuring out the field together. Today we saw great play from Sophomore Camryn Stewart (1g, 1a), Sophomore Tara Hughes, Junior Devan DiMaria and Senior Aly Campbell. All three players are team leaders on the field and really stepped up today. Abington's offense today was catapulted by two Freshman Olivia Doughtery and Maura Calladonato (1g). Both girls really came to play and stepped it up and it was good to see the future of Abington Field Hockey is bright. Abington is hoping to use this win to propel them into the last 2.5 weeks of this condensed season.
