Notes: It was a heartbreaking loss for North Penn as Methacton scored the winning goal with no time left on the clock in the 4th Q as a result of a penalty corner called at the end of regulation. It was a back and forth evenly matched contest as both teams had 10 penalty corners and the Knights slightly edged the Warriors 11-7 on shots. Both teams' defenses and goalkeepers were solid as each team had fast and dynamic attacks. NP GK Kiera Holt returned to goal after being out for a week with an ankle injury and had a gutsy performance against a speedy Methacton front line. Maddie Waldspurger, Linsey Gilbert, Annabelle Smink, and Melissa Sessler had a stellar performance defensively after going down 1-0 in the first 30 seconds of the game. "I was so proud of how the team responded to the early goal because that can be a punch to the gut allowing your opponent to score 30 seconds into a playoff game where nerves are high. We re-organized, settled in and started to connect better on our passes and in the third quarter were able to answer back with forward Catherine McGeehan picking up a rebound in front of the goal to tie the game. A playoff loss is disappointing as is, but the sequence of events that led to the loss in the last few seconds of the game were devastating to our team as this team displayed heart, hustle, and a never give up attitude the entire game until the final whistle. They left everything out on the field tonight. I am so proud of our team and what we accomplished this season and I am especially grateful for our senior class; Mackenzie Czajowski, Bay Detweiler, Linsey Gilbert, Erin O'Donnell, Ella Sanfelice, Aditi Shah, Belle Sparango, and Maddie Waldspurger as they were strong leaders who led with hard work, dedication, and commitment."
Final North Penn record: 13-6-1
