We knew coming in that Souderton is an incredibly well coached (Coach Sue & Staff), skilled and conditioned team.
I thought that both teams played a well balanced first 2 quarters being able to generate offensive opportunities on both ends of the field.
Souderton began to assert themselves and controlled possession for most of the 2nd half. We were able to break the tie on a Claire Engebreth goal off of a corner play and scrum in front of the Souderton goal cage with just under 5 minutes to play in the 4th quarter.
Souderton continued to put relentless pressure on us until the final whistle. Once again, our GK (Brooke Golbeski) had an outstanding effort in the cage along with our center defender (Claire) who made an incredible "in the air" stick save late in the game. Julia Bunch and Meg Weyer continued with strong midfield play.
Today was a very important step for our team. Our players showed heart and determination throughout the entire match. We continue to look to improve each day!
