Goalie Addi Hurley had 12 saves in the first half and defenders Kelly Bates and Izzy Duncan were amazing to hold Springfield scoreless. The Spartans got their first score in the 3rd quarter, but the Bears continued to compete. Kyleigh Convey and Olivia Torres kept pushing the ball up to our attacking side of the field. Convey and Torres both got shots off, but could not score. With 35 seconds left in the 3rd quarter Springfield scored again. The 4th quarter, the Bears midfielders Bridget Hess and Ella Gould played aggressively to keep the game very competitive!
The Spartans scored 2 more times in the 2nd half, with the last score with just 4 seconds left in the game. Bears freshman forward MJ Reilly continues to grow as a freshman using her stickwork and passing to move the ball up the field.
