"PW and Wissahickon played a competitive and exciting game this afternoon with PW coming out on top 4-1. Wissahickon scored the first goal of the game less than two minutes into the contest when Riley Ball finished a dangerous attacking play by Camilla Lutte. PW remained composed and made the most of a fast break when Gracie Kerns lifted the ball into the back corner of the net with 10:00 minutes left in the first quarter. The game stayed evenly matched through most of the second quarter until the 5:08 mark when Emily Dobrowolski carried the ball through the center of the field and gave a perfect lead pass to Kerns who was able to finish on a 1v1 with the Wissahickon goalkeeper. Sammy Callan would give the Colonials an insurance goal by finishing a rebound off the pads with 4 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Wissahickon dominated the offensive statistics in the second half, but PW's defensive unit of Ava Matthias, Hadley Blake, Kate Dobrowolski, Ella Bruno, and GK, Carly Spinner, played strong games in the defensive circle and didn't allow Wissahickon to score. Kerns would add her 3rd goal of the game on another numbers up opportunity with 5:40 remaining in the 4th quarter. PW continued to play solid defense even as a series of defensive corners ended the game."
