The Wissahickon Trojans open the 2019 season with a home contest against the Penncrest Lions. After a scoreless 1st quarter, the Trojans were able to get on the scoreboard with a 8 yard TD run by Senior Jalen Smalls. After a series of self-inflected wombs (2 personal foul penalties) the Lions were able to tie the score with a TD pass. The next offensive position, the Trojans fumble the exchange between Jalen Smalls and QB Nick Santo and the Lions were back in business. They convert the turnover to 3 points to take a half time lead of 10-7. With the start of the second half both teams trade punts and then the Lions where able to drive down and score a TD but miss the extra point to take a 16-7 lead. With time remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Trojans were able to drive down into scoring range and settled on a 35 yard FG by sophomore Nate DeVincent to cut the lead to 16-10.
