The Ghosts won their home opener against Bensalem at Huntingdon Valley Country Club by a score of 225-269. The Centennial-9 at HVCC did not fail to challenge even the most skilled golfers with its lightning quick greens that demanded caution and respect with every putt. Although pleased with the win, the ghost’s were disappointed overall with individual scores at their home course, and have higher expectations for themselves. Senior Captain Nick Coyle, led the way with a 42 and two birdies, but Senior Brian Hanley joined him with a 42 and pared 3 holes. Freshman Matt Shur did not let the course get the better of him and with poise and confidence, shot a 45 on his second outing on the C-9. This makes a second team score contribution for Shur, and is one to look out for this season. Senior CJ Brennan described the putting situation today as, “Putting on hardwood floors”, but managed to contribute to the win with a 46. Finally, Sophomore Rebecca Chiger in her Varsity debut at HVCC became the final score for the win at 50 paring one hole.
