After losing by one stroke to Neshaminy at Middletown CC, the Ghosts were looking to get even against the Skins at home on the merciless Centennial-9 of HVCC. Abington was extremely consistent today with #1 through #8 contributing to the win. Highlights of the match included Matt Shur managing an up and down on hole #7 from 220 yards out, while Rebecca Chiger was smooth and consistent carding nothing higher than bogey. #8 player, Danielle Carr, solidified the win with a solid 41, carding nothing higher than bogey and only 13 putts, bringing the Ghosts to a 201 for the day. John Bulliga shot the low score for the Skins with a 40. What was more important than the score at the end of the day, was that five Abington Seniors and four Neshaminy seniors met on the links for the final match of their high school golf careers, ending a wonderful tradition of comraderie and competitive sportsmanship over the past 3-4 years. The Abington Golf team wishes the Neshaminy seniors the very best in their future endeavors.
