First Match of the Season results in: Abington 1-0 Neshaminy 0-1

Seniors Nick Coyle (#1), and Jake Shur (#2) did not disappoint in the 2012 season opener with their contributions to the Ghost's win agains the Skins at Middletown Country Club. Captain Nick Coyle felt comfortable with a solid swing today but had an unlucky double bogey on the 5th hole. Putting that behind him, he birdied the 8th hole and finished strong to card a 39.

Jake Shur parred 7 of 9 holes and carded a 38 for the round. Although a great score, Jake knows he is capable of a better round. First year Abington Golfer, Jed Barson came to play with carding a 42 and parring four holes in his first Varsity match of the season. Senior Brian Hanley was not thrilled with his performance of a 43; however, felt comfortable with every approach shot to the green. Freshman, Matt Shur also contributed to his first Varsity match carding a respectable 44, but was disappointed with his putting. Matt looks to rebound against Bensalem at HVCC on Wednesday.
