Following in the footsteps of last season's final match tie between these two squads, Wissahickon once again went home without tasting victory suffering a one stroke defeat 214-215 at the hands of Upper Merion at Gulph Mills GC. The hot, sunny day worked in Upper Merion's favor as the always tough Gulph Mills greens were only made more difficult by the elements and added to the team's home course advantage. The top three seeds on both squads completed play with an identical aggregate score of 120 and the match turned Upper Merion's way when fourth seed Ryan Estock posted a score of 43. Upper Merion's Eric Slawter was the match medalist at 38, while Jesse Hunsicker and Jalen Griffin each posted 39 for Wissahickon. The tough loss dropped the Trojans from the ranks of the undefeated in the American Conference play and left them eager to even the score when the two squads battle it out again on Wissahickon's home turf, Cedarbrook CC, in late September.
