We were down 3-1 when our offense started to click taking a 6-5 lead into the fourth quarter. The team played well in all facets of the game. Our challenge though has been at the faceoff X. Pennsbury won 17 or 19 draws and thus controlled their offensive half for a good portion of the game. Our defense was up to the task lead by goalie Ryan “Ricky” Rickards who was stellar again recording 16 saves. Close defenders Tim Trapp, Colin Heltzel and Logan Hood neutralized the potent Falcons attack. LSM Evan Fitch was solid throughout the contest seemingly never coming of the field, while also scoring a goal.
Patrick Courtney (3 goals and 1 assist) and Ayden Demi (3 goals and 1 assist) scored momentum shifting goals leading to a fourth quarter leads.
The game was an intense, fun, and well-played. I was so proud of the team’s effort. Unfortunately it was truly a heartbreaking loss. Credit Pennsbury for their will to win at the end.
