In a game closer than the score indicated, the NHS Lions defeated the Sun Valley Vanguards 10/6 late Saturday Afternoon. Malcolm Raupp had 5 goals, Mitchell Lontchar added 4 goals and Declan Curran had 1 goal.
Coach Bruemmer was concerned from the beginning. After the emotion of our OT win against Ghost on Wednesday, I was prepared for a slow start. I told our players not to be fooled by Sun Valleys record.They play strong opponents and have some terrific players. They came to play!
Our Senior leadership of Raupp, Leo Fowler, Dimitri Sigrist, Declan Curran, Logan Minnucci and Franklin Phillips pushed us through our sluggishness.
Curran was once again key in the transition game and added 6 ground balls. Chris Weisbrot had 4 gb's and was strong at the face of X along with Brandon Cronce and Colin Foster. Leo Fowler anchored the Defense with 6 saves in goal.
