On a night dedicated to honoring them and their high school lacrosse careers, Plymouth Whitemarsh's seniors responded by leading the Colonials to an 11-8 league win over visiting Abington. Senior Captains Luke Wendler (3G) and CJ Petrakis (4G) scored 7 total goals between them to lead the Colonials' offense. Senior defensemen Matt Licwinko and Keith Gallagher led the defensive effort assisting goalie Nate Mascio in racking up 14 saves. Junior Captain Justin Bainbridge (2G, 3A, 4 GB, 2 CTO, 16/22 FO) and Sophomore Ben Backenstose (2G) rounded out the Colonials scoring with 2 goals a piece. Bainbridge also went 16 of 22 on faceoffs and added solid defensive midfield play along with Junior Jared Kolsun (1 CTO) and Freshman Luke LaViola (1 CTO). Senior LSM Tim Sol (1GB, 1 CTO) and Freshman Isaiah Bainbridge (3 GB, 2 CTO) assisted the defensive effort with solid LSM play all night long. "Tonight was a true team effort," Head Coach James Bainbridge said. "The whole team wanted to come out and make this a special night for our seniors and I feel like they did just that. I couldn't think of a better way to honor our seniors and their lacrosse careers than the effort I saw on the field tonight." The Colonials take to the road to play Council Rock North on Wednesday.
