After trailing by 3 at halftime, we were able to turn it around and pull out a really big win today. For both teams it was a defensive battle. We always know going into a game with Abington it will be a battle - they are always tough on the field. The first quarter was back and forth with a score of 3-2, the second quarter Abington dominated scoring 3 goals to our one goal with a score of 6-3. I am proud of our girls for never giving up. There is only 1 other game where we were down by 3 at halftime, so this was a different situation for us. Our defense discussed some things to fix and it made a huge difference in the second half. They knew what we needed to do to win this game and went out in the second half to score 4 goals to 1 goal for Abington. That quarter we just really turned it up and played our game. The final quarter we got a quick goal in the first minute to give us the lead 8-7. Our final goal was scored with just under 8 minutes to give us a 2 goal lead. Abington got the ball to score with just under 3 minutes left, but time was on our side to hold off for the final 2 minutes.

Our 4 freshmen, Keiley Hawk, Madeline Cox, Keira Hess, and Leah King really stepped it up today and were a significant part of the win.

Our defense led by Avery Adamski and Cambrie Richmond, did an amazing job at fixing what was wrong and encouraging all players to work together as a unit to communicate. Our midfield, the workhorses of our team Willow Taylor, Annalise Messina, and Keira Hess played both ends of the field really well despite the hot temperatures on the turf. Our attack led by Olivia Meakim, Molly Meakim, Maggie Morrow, and Maggie Brophy really did a great job being patient and finding the right path to goal. They worked together really well today!

Super proud of the team and how far we have come from day 1. We have a big week and a half ahead of us, but I know they are all up for the challenges to come!
