Council Rock North girls’ lacrosse team overcame a tough challenge from Bensalem, securing a 12-6 victory in a gritty, hard-fought matchup.
The star of the night was Gabby Mann, who delivered a historic performance with one goal and seven assists—a mark that is believed to be a new school record, surpassing her previous career-best of six assists set earlier in the week. Mann’s playmaking ability was on full display as she orchestrated the offense, setting up teammates and keeping the attack fluid.
Ellie Carney once again led the scoring effort, netting five goals, while also making her presence known all over the field with eight draw controls (DC) and a ground ball (GB). Addison Deppi contributed with one goal and one ground ball, while Lila Cohen, Kate Hora, and Mann each added a goal to round out the offensive effort.
On the defensive end, Keiley Lyons and Abbey Steadman anchored the backline, helping to keep Bensalem’s attack in check. Lyons recorded two ground balls and a forced turnover (FTO), while Steadman added another crucial FTO to disrupt Bensalem’s offensive rhythm.
Despite a physical battle from Bensalem, Council Rock North’s ability to control possession, execute sharp passing, and capitalize on scoring opportunities proved to be the difference. With Mann’s record-breaking performance, Carney’s dominance in the draw circle, and a strong defensive effort, the Indians powered through to another victory.
