Council Rock North Comments
In a landmark night for Council Rock North girls lacrosse, the Indians capped their Suburban One League schedule with a 17-10 victory over the CB South Titans—securing a rare in-season sweep of all three Central Bucks high schools. It’s a feat the program hasn’t accomplished in recent memory, and it came on the heels of one of the most successful regular seasons in school history, as the Indians closed out the year with an impressive 15-2 record.
From the opening draw, Council Rock North’s midfield control and offensive precision set the tone. Junior midfielder Catherine McBride continued her outstanding season with another all-around performance, notching 6 goals, 3 assists, 6 ground balls, 6 draw controls, and 3 forced turnovers. Her relentless play on both ends fueled the Indians’ fast-paced attack and transition game.
But it was senior captain Gabby Mann who stole the spotlight with a staggering 9 assists—a single-game performance for the record books. Mann’s field vision and crisp passing repeatedly carved up the Titans' defense and kept the offense in rhythm throughout the night.
Olivia Espozito added firepower with 5 goals, 3 ground balls, and 4 draw controls, while Ellie Carney chipped in 3 goals and controlled the draw circle with 7 draw controls and 2 ground balls. The trio’s chemistry and hustle made the difference as the Indians pulled away in the second half.
On the defensive end, goalie Lucy Carney once again proved clutch, coming up with key saves to stop CB South’s momentum and steady the team during pressure situations. The defensive unit held strong as a cohesive group, ensuring the Titans never got within striking distance once North built its lead.
