We had 7 different girls score in tonight’s battle against CB west. Leading was Sophomore Katie Pennekamp with 3 goals and 3 assists, followed by Senior Harper McGinley with 2goals and 3assists. Also contributing to the offense were Madden Murray with 2goals and Carly Hughes, Piper McGinley, Erin Ely, and Nora Luskin each recording 1goal. We put up a fight the entire game and played great defense both in the backend and in the midfield. Carly Hughes was solid in the midfield and back on defense causing multiple turnovers and picking off passes. The 4th quarter we shut CB West down and was able to come back from a 4 goal deficit. On the defensive end we had great communication and had 26 ground balls. Harper McGinley attacked every ground ball she could and came up with 5 followed by Katie P and Nora Luskin each with 4. Jocelyn pollock also recorded 3gb. Goalie Jadyn Bagby was the anchor of the defense and had 7 saves in net. Freshman Erin Ely scored to take the game into over time with 2 seconds left in the 4th quarter. In over time, Carly had an amazing check on the re-defend and Piper McGinley came up with the ground ball which allowed us to regain possession. Nora drove to goal and scored with 9 seconds left in sudden death. We won a total of 16 draw controls which was the turning point of the game. Harper McGinley solidified 8 dc and Katie Pennekamp with 7. We are so proud of how hard our girls fought to the very last second. Amazing team win for Abington!
