Lansdale, PA — In a night that meant more than just lacrosse. Hosted by North Penn, the matchup served as a tribute to former players and families affected by cancer, raising awareness and resources to help find a cure for the devastating disease.
The game opened with intensity, as North Penn struck first with a well-executed goal. But Council Rock North quickly responded, and the first quarter ended in a 2-2 deadlock — a fitting start to an emotional evening.
From the second quarter on, the Indians seized control, led by a dominant midfield unit that took over the draw controls and never looked back. Junior midfielder Cat McBride delivered another commanding performance, filling the stat sheet with 7 goals, 3 assists, 12 draw controls, 3 ground balls, and 3 forced turnovers.
Olivia Espozito added firepower on the offensive end with 4 goals, while Ellie Carney chipped in 3 goals and 3 draw controls, helping the Indians maintain possession and momentum.
The engine behind the offense once again was Gabby Mann, dubbed “The Queen” by teammates. Mann notched an incredible 6 assists, setting the table for scorers all night and adding a ground ball to her totals.
Jordy Zazoff contributed a hat trick of her own, and Addison Deppi added a goal to round out the scoring.
Defensively, Council Rock North stood tall. Goalie Lucy Carney anchored the backline with a 60% save rate, turning away several high-quality shots. The defense was bolstered by strong efforts from Keiley Lyons, Abby Steadman, Addison Kohler, and Ella G, who locked down passing lanes and helped stifle North Penn’s attack.
The final score read 18-6, a convincing win for Council Rock North on a night that carried a deeper purpose. As the crowd honored those affected by cancer, the Indians honored them with heart, hustle, and a unified team effort.
