Fell, Ava 11 saves
A hard-fought, tough game against a really well coached team in Unionville. It was a long bus ride and then the game was delayed a bit because we were waiting for a ref to show up from a different site. That didn't stop the defense from setting the tone at the start of the game and they stayed solid through the game, getting 16 turnovers along with 11 saves from Ava Fell. Ellie Stein does such a great job running that unit and she was key to our ability to get the ball up the field in transition. In the 2nd quarter, we started to click offensively, with 3 goals from Lex McCabe along with contributions from Paige Dratch and Emma Greenberg to open up the lead. Both teams traded goals in the 3rd quarter, but after Unionville picked up their 4th yellow at the 9:18 mark in the 4th quarter, we tried to slow the game down a bit and were able to ride out the win. Happy for the team and with their performance for all 4 quarters.
