Wissahickon Comments
Wissahickon Trojans started out slow, but fired back with a 11-5 half time lead. Once again, playing a tough Upper Moreland team, it was all about the draw and possession. Upper Moreland's offense was quick so Wissahickon had to hustle back and double team on defense in order to keep the Bears out of goal range. Wissahickon won 16-8. Emily Vervlied led the Lady Trojans with 5 goals and 2 assists. Followed by Carolyn Wilde with 4 goals and 3 assists. Lauren Irvine had a hat trick and 1 assist. Shannon Stagliano, Mary Matthews, Marie Dickson and Lana Doskicz each scored one goal. Adding assists were Stagliano, Claire Tarzia and Doskicz with one each.
Upper Moreland Comments
Upper Moreland competed throughout , but Wissahickon was just too fast and their defense was too strong. Delaney Smith sparked the attack and was a force all over the field. Smith had 7 draw controls, 2 goals and 2 assists. Veronica Baez controlled the midfield and added 2 goals. For UM the scoring was spread from there with Jess Flanagan, Syd Bachmayer, Allison Felicetti and Maura O'Leary all scoring a goal. Melissa Felicetti and Maddy Pisut played well on defense.
