The CBEboys fought a tough crosstown rival in a match that did not let down. Kudos to Coach John Adiar and his boys as they were organized and ready to play. Although both teams came out strong it seemed that we (East) had a bit more energy and passing strings then we have shown early on in games as of recent. This eventually led to a goal in the 19th minute by Ethan Cruz (no assist). Ethan has worked very hard to put himself in the right spots to really give our team a boost. Also, Dan Frye played an incredibly strong game and proved to everyone that he is the true quarterback of our team.
Early in the second half, Aidan Pasternak scored off of a beautiful flick assist from Nick Bonargo. To their credit, this slight cushion of 2-0 was taken advantage of by West who came back twice to eventually tie it up in the last 15 minutes. CBEast had a few opportunities to convert a goal that fell just short while continuing to hold West at bay. Liam Harding (GK) stood very tall on one play in particular and kept us in the game. Then, with less than 5 minutes left in the second OT, Ethan Cruz connected with his second goal of the night to propel the team to a solid conference win. I am very proud of how the players responded, they showed a strong work ethic and it was great have them see this game through to the very end.
