Neshaminy scored in the 2nd minute when Dan Grindrod split Lower Merion's defense with a perfectly weighted ball to Vince Hosephros who beat the keeper to the far post. Neshminy made the score 2-0 in the 20th minute when Hosephros hit a great cross from the right side, Jack McCourt one timed the ball just under the cross bar. 2-0 half. Lower Merion was awarded a PK in the 50th minute to make the score 2-1. Lower Merion had us on our heels for the next 10 minutes then we started controlling the game again. we continued to pressure and finally in the 77th minute, Matt Leonhauser iced the game off a free kick. Dan Grindrod served the ball into the box, Chase Rider went up for the serve causing the ball to deflect to Leonhauser who finished it to make the final score 3-1. We played very well, except for 15-20 minute stretch in the 2nd half. It was nice beating a quality team like Lower Merion who had a very stingy defense going into the game (only gave up 9 goals all year with 11 shutouts). Grindrod, McCourt and Hosephros were a handful all night and Kevin Hanuscin played particularly well in the back.
